About Jordan...

Born on  July 13, 1992, Jordan entered the world as an energetic child full of cheer. Jordan’s early education began at LaSalle Elementary School in Washington, DC and Clinton Christian School in Upper Marlboro, MD from K-5. Sensing a need for change, Jordan’s parents enrolled him into the recently formed Excellence Christian School. At Excellence Jordan was greatly influenced by his 6th grade teacher, Mr. Brian Totten and began to excel academically.

Always enthusiastic about sports, Jordan began developing as an athlete while participating in t-ball/baseball, football, and AAU basketball programs. As a high school freshman, Jordan entered Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington, Virginia where he played junior varsity football and basketball. During this period Jordan’s interest in football waned and he diligently focused on honing his basketball skills. As his sophomore year ended and with the support of his parents Jordan transferred to Riverdale Baptist High School in Upper Marlboro, MD. Jordan continued to excel academically and athletically.

In April 2010, Jordan was selected by Riverdale Baptist Coach Louis Wilson to compete in the Prince George's County Public Schools vs Private Schools basketball tournament and was awarded the game MVP, coming off the bench to score 21 points.  A few weeks later, Jordan accepted an offer from Coach Richie Schueler of St. Andrew’s University in Laurinburg, NC.  Jordan was awarded academic and athletic scholarships by the University allowing him to fulfill his dream to play college basketball. Jordan attended St. Andrews University for two years and later transferred after the school lost its Division II status. Never defeated and eager to continue playing basketball at the college level, Jordan diligently pursued his college basketball aspirations and in the Summer of 2012 was accepted at the HBCU St. Augustine's University in Raleigh, NC and became a “walk-on” member of the Men's Basketball team.  In December 2012, Jordan was honored as the “CIAA Newcomer of the Week” scoring a career-high 19 points.  While attending St. Augustine's University Jordan was on the Dean's List, an Honors Scholar,  and Presidential Scholar. In the Fall of 2014, Jordan was inducted into the Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society. In May 2015, Jordan graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Augustine's University. Jordan was accepted into the Global Luxury Management Program at North Carolina State University - Poole College of Management Jenkins Graduate School in Raleigh, NC. The NCSU GLAM program afforded Jordan the opportunity to live in France while attending SKEMA – School of Knowledge Economy and Management, Sophia Antipolis Valbonne France. In the Summer of 2016, Jordan graduated with a dual Master’s Degree in Global Innovation Management.

As much as Jordan enjoyed athletics and dedicating himself to his scholarly tasks, Jordan most enjoyed the company of family and friends often making visits to see everyone he could when in town. Jordan treasured these relationships and those who knew him, treasured him. Despite Jordan’s plans for his future, on the morning of Monday, September 3, 2018, Jordan’s life journey ended.

The Jordan Christian Baber Foundation Incorporated was established to offer financial support to high school seniors continuing their education at an HBCU and to those seeking training in skilled trades. Long live Jordan’s legacy of scholarship and excellence.

Jordan “Cuzzo” Baber lived life in fashion. He was trendy, filled with energy, and could sell salt to a slug! He was very distinct but his wardrobe would have you guessing as to who he was..cuzzo could light up a room with just his presence.
