SCHOLARSHIPS

The Jordan Christian Baber Foundation Scholarships are awarded annually to individuals residing in Prince George's County, MD and the District of Columbia. The Foundation will award two types of scholarships: the first to a current-year high school graduate attending an HBCU and a second PATHFINDER scholarship to an individual 18-30 years of age enrolled in a skilled trades program, vocational training, specialty school or program. 
 

The HBCU Bound Scholarship

The HBCU College Scholarship provides financial assistance to a high school graduate planning to attend a Historically Black College or University.

Scholarship Amount: $1000

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  Thursday, August 29, 2024

 

TO APPLY YOU MUST SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:


1.   Complete and submit the APPLICATION COVER SHEET  click here

2.  Submit a 500-word essay on the following topic:
      "Why is it important for you to obtain a college degree and what do you hope to gain from your HBCU experience?"
 

3.  Submit your Official Transcript showing a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.
 

 4.  Certification of a minimum of  15 hours of community service.
 

5.  Two (2) Letters of Recommendation stating why you should be considered for the scholarship: a) a letter from a teacher, school administrator, counselor, or work supervisor and b) a letter from any non-relative of your choosing.
